Softeners for tanker and well water.
UAE mains water arrives soft, so Regal is for the sites where it does not: villas and farms on wells, buildings fed by tanker, and plant rooms whose boilers, laundries or coffee machines set a hardness limit. Our UAE team sizes the model to the supply and the load, then installs and services it.

From a villa kitchen to a plant room.
Start with the site. We settle the exact model once we know where the water comes from, how hard it is and the peak flow.
Homes & light commercial
Compact cabinets on the US-made Clack DV valve that fit under a kitchen sink. The 100 and 150 suit villas and smaller homes on well or tanker water; the 200 covers large villas and small commercial kitchens.
- 1.0 to 1.8 m3/h of softened water
- 1.8 to 5 m3 of capacity between regenerations
- Uses salt and water only when the meter calls for it
- 30 W power draw
Commercial & light industrial
A floor-standing softener with its own pressure tank and brine tank, for hotel kitchens, laundries and light industrial lines on harder supplies.
- 6.12 m3/h softened flow
- 10 × 54" pressure vessel
- 125 L brine tank, overflow protected
- Regenerates on metered volume, not a timer
Industrial
Floor-standing and twin-tank systems for factories, farms and plants on well water that need softened water at all hours.
- 3.5 to 18.2 m3/h softened flow
- 15 m3 between regenerations on the 750
- Two vessels take turns, so supply never stops
- Up to 6 units run from one controller
Six models, from one tap to a whole plant.

How ion exchange takes the hardness out.
Resin beads inside the softener hold sodium. As hard water runs through, they trade it for calcium and magnesium, the minerals that leave scale. Here is each part of a metered softener in service.
- 1Bypass valve
Isolates the softener for servicing while keeping water flowing to the building.
- 2Control valve
Routes water through each stage and runs regeneration automatically.
- 3Water meter
Counts every litre of soft water, so regeneration happens only when the resin is nearly spent.
- 4Mineral tank
The pressure vessel. Headroom above the resin lets the bed lift and clean itself on backwash.
- 5Ion-exchange resin
Beads charged with sodium. Calcium and magnesium stick to them and sodium is released.
- 6Riser tube & distributor
Soft water is collected at the base of the tank and rises up the centre tube to the outlet.
- 7Salt & brine
Salt dissolves in the water at the base of the tank to make the brine used to recharge the resin.
- 8Brine well & safety float
Draws brine out and meters the refill. The float stops the tank from overfilling.
- 9Drain with air gap
Carries rinse water away. The air gap stops drain water from ever siphoning back.
- 10Drinking tap
Teed off before the softener, so one kitchen tap stays on unsoftened water.
Recharging the resin, on a meter.
Once the meter shows the resin is close to spent, the valve starts a regeneration, either at once or at a set hour such as the early morning. On a twin system the second vessel takes over, so softened water keeps flowing.
- In service
Service
Hard water flows down through the resin and leaves as soft water. The meter counts each litre used.
- Stage 1
Backwash
Water runs up through the tank, lifting and loosening the bed and flushing trapped sediment to drain.
- Stage 2
Brine draw & slow rinse
Brine is drawn from the salt tank through the resin. It strips off the calcium and magnesium and recharges the beads with sodium.
- Stage 3
Fast rinse
A fast flow of water resettles the bed and rinses the last of the brine and hardness to drain.
- Stage 4
Brine refill
A measured volume of water refills the salt tank, making fresh brine for the next regeneration.
The exact stages vary by valve. Some add a second backwash, and up-flow models such as the Regal 100 and 200 send brine up through the resin to save salt.
Where softening pays off in the UAE.
Guards the plant room
- Water heaters and boilers stay clear of scale
- Laundry machines and dishwashers keep clean elements
- Coffee machines stay free of scale
- Fewer blocked valves and shower heads
At the tap
- Soap and shampoo lather with less
- Glasses and cutlery dry without spots
- No white crust on taps and glass screens
- Less descaling for staff
Low running costs
- Metered regeneration saves salt and water
- Proven Clack and CE control valves
- Low-power valves
- Serviced by our UAE team

Pick the size, keep the same engineering.
Every Regal uses metered regeneration and proven control valves, so a villa on a well and a plant on tanker water get the same build at different scales.
- Sized to your supply and flow, not guessed
- Pairs with CrownGuard filtration where tanks add sediment
- A separate unsoftened drinking tap, as standard practice
- Maintenance plans from a fixed annual fee
Softeners in the UAE, plain answers.
Q1How does a softener remove hardness?
Q2Which Regal suits my site?
Q3Should we drink softened water?
Q4How much salt does it use?
Q5Do I need a softener or a filter?
Q6Who installs and services it?
Regal in the UAE
Dubai and Abu Dhabi mains water is desalinated and soft. DEWA's 2025 report puts average hardness at 60.7 mg/l, so on mains alone most UAE homes do not need a softener.
Regal earns its place where the supply is different: villas and farms on wells, sites fed by tanker, and coffee machines, boilers or laundries with strict feed-water limits. We size the model to the supply and the load, then install and service it.
Common questions
Does UAE tap water need softening?
Usually not. Mains water in Dubai and Abu Dhabi is desalinated and soft. A softener makes sense on well or tanker supplies, or ahead of equipment that sets its own hardness limit.
My water tastes stale. Will a softener help?
No. Stale taste, rust and sediment usually come from the building's tanks and pipes. That is a filtration job, which our Regent and CrownGuard ranges cover.
Can one softener serve a whole hotel?
Yes. The Regal Twin 3672 runs two vessels in turn, so softened water keeps flowing during regeneration, at up to 18.2 m³ an hour.
Supplied, fitted and serviced in the UAE
UAE mains water is desalinated and fairly soft: DEWA reports a typical hardness of 60.7 mg/l in Dubai. Most problems start in building tanks and pipework, so filtration and UV usually matter more here than softening.
