UV-C light damages the DNA of bacteria and viruses, so they cannot reproduce. It is a physical process: nothing goes into the water.

SovSafe in the UAE
In the UAE, DEWA's responsibility ends at your building. After that, water sits in roof or ground tanks and runs through pumps and pipes the owner maintains, and that is where the risk to drinking water starts.
SovSafe puts a UV stage after the tank. A whole-site SW24 covers a villa or boutique hotel, and the compact SW60 protects one dispenser or under-sink filter. We size it to the supply, fit it and change the lamp each year.
Common questions
Is UV needed if DEWA already treats the water?
DEWA water leaves the network within strict limits. UV is for what can happen after that, in warm roof tanks and long pipe runs inside the building.
My water tastes of the tank. Will UV fix that?
No. UV disinfects but leaves taste and minerals as they are. A carbon filter removes the tank taste, and we often fit both, with the filter first.
Which SovSafe unit suits a Dubai villa?
Usually the SW24 on the main supply after the tank, with a sediment pre-filter in front. It handles up to 5.4 m³ an hour.
Supplied, fitted and serviced in the UAE
UAE mains water is desalinated and fairly soft: DEWA reports a typical hardness of 60.7 mg/l in Dubai. Most problems start in building tanks and pipework, so filtration and UV usually matter more here than softening.
